“Tanukitour” is an official event of “Tanuki’s holiday” in Shigarakitown on Shiga prefecture.
“Tanuki’s holiday” is an event that has been held once in a year to make Shigaraki ceramics which has Tanuki’s shape have a rest.
On the day, Tanukis take their own holidays with the help of the townspeople taking eye masks on them, putting sleeping sheet or taking them into Onsen (Japanese hot spring).
“Tanuki’s holiday” this year is going to be held 6th. 7th. 8th. this November.
During the days, some Tanukis coimg out from Shigaraki town will tell you about Shigaraki taking the form of some art works or products.

In “Tanukitour”, we are planning to hold various events including an exhibition tour of artworks from “Shigaraki machinaka art festival” which is held from 1st in October to 23rd in November, an exhibition where the main site is in Tokyo “Tobimushi/Baiten” as an event held in the same time as “Shigaraki machinaka art festival”, selling original products, selling new Shigaraki products collaborated by designers and potters which are going to be shown in “Shigaraki-life ceramics exhibition”, an exhibition with 50 creators in the size of matchbox:
“Shigaraki macchinaka art festival” and serving special menu.You could also bring drinks from Baiten to exhibition hall.
